Sint Guido Institut
We are a Belgian school, situated in Anderlecht (near to Brussels), consisting of a predominantly non-native population. We are Dutch-speaking, however 70% of our school's pupils come from different European and non-European backgrounds, so very multicultural.
We are a secondary school offering vocational, technical and general education spread over four locations . We have about 920 students and 120 teachers.
Our school supports students with learning disabilities. We have an extensive system of students counseling and we work together with a guidance center.
Our school also offers Higher Education: one year social security and Higher vocational education nurse .
We have experience in using smartboards, e-learning.
Because of the risk of early school leaving and low basic skills, our school uses student-centred pedagogical approaches.
ICT is used in different courses. Service training and advice from the educational leaders are required.
Because it will be the first time that we take part in an international project digital skills and multilingualism will be improved by using other languages, and the intercultural awareness will be promoted.
