Hobere Graphische Bundeslehr-

und Versuchsanstalt

The federal training and research institute for graphical arts and media „die graphische”, founded 1888, is a vocational education school with four departments/instruction courses (multimedia, photography, graphic design and printing technology). The education starts with level 9 and takes 5 years.

The focus is on creative design and technical background. Additionally there are also teached general education subjects.

Furthermore there is offered a post secondary level education college which concentrates on the vocational subjects and takes 2 years.

„die graphische” has 1300 students and 200 teachers.

„die graphische”  was selected by the ministry of education as one of a few schools to develope innovative elearning scenarious (member of the „elearning cluster” . That means beside the innovative use of a learning management system and other new media tools, to develope innovative eLearning scenarious and to use the multimedia competences of teachers and students to produce and apply multimedia content to be used in learning processes (like tablet apps, serious games and educational videos). For this there is a number of technical well equipped labs at „die graphische”.
