“STEM FOR ALL” PROJECT’S PRESENTATION MEETING HAS BEEN PERFORMED IN SARIYER
The Project, called “STEM FOR ALL” which is collectively coordinated with Sarıyer Distict National Education Directorate with the Ministry of European Union and Turkish National Agency, was introduced with a launching event and a panel discussion.
The presentation of STEM was held in Sarıyer, ISTANBUL, on January 10th 2018. STEM is an educational approach applied by entegrating science and mathematics education with technology and engineering.
Academicians, teachers, administrators, parents and also sector represantatives were the participators of the promotion meeting.
The meeting started with the speech of Sarıyer District Director of Education İbrahim TAHMAZ and contiuned with the project presentation which is presented by the Project Coordinator Sibel SAYGIN.
Bahcesehir Univesity BAUSTEM Director Assoc. Dr. Sencer ÇORLU, under the title of “Science For All, STEM for Every Student” discussed and shared important information about the concepts of STEM.

“We should provide student centered, active learning areas.”
Sarıyer District Director İbrahim TAHMAZ, emphazies the importance of putting the rote learning based education system to one side and the requirement of the need to provide student centered system, active learning areas. He also added, by combining science and mathematics education with the opportunities provided by technology and engineering diciplines, we should make our students gain 21st century skills.
In addition to this, we should, as managers, support our teachers who are the corner stones and provide opportunities to improve themselves in the personal and professional fields.
“Without catching 4.0 in education, it is impossible to catch 4.0 in industry.”
Project coordinator Sibel SAYGIN also pointed out the relationship between industry and education. She emphasized “We should aware of the fact that without catching 4.0 in education, it is impossible to catch 4.0 in industry.The industry determines the future professions so it affects the economic and educational systems so these systems need to be changed and updated. From this point, STEM ‘s taking primacy in educational policy, is the main reason of our Project.
The STEM is an educational approach in which the problem that is discovered by our students can be solved by interpretting information and composing a product with using these diciplines together.
At the end of the meeting, a panel titled “Building an awareness on the 21st century skills and the STEM education approach “ was organized.
Similar events will be organized in the partner countries as well.
“STEM FOR ALL” PROJECT’S PRESENTATION IN SWEEDEN
Novia Engleska Skolan organized a launching events for the teachers, managers, students and their families . After general presentation was made by the Erik Oscarsson and the project team, to raise awareness about the Stem and draw attention to our project importance in today’s world. The Swedish partner invited, in truck construction whose representative, Bruce Atkinson, spoke about how Scania sees the future and what skills and competences are sought after by them. An external speaker, Ashkan Fardost, was also invited and spoke about the advantages of digitalization and how students, and anyone, can use it to network and be entrepreneurs. The number of participants were 100.
“STEM FOR ALL” PROJECT’S PRESENTATION IN GREECE
The Launching event took place on 20 March 2018, at event hall of “HOTEL EGNATIA”, in Kavala, Greece.Members of presentation team were Mr Konsoulas Georgios secondary teacher of informatics, M.Ed. in innovating teaching methods and Ms. Batakoglou Vasiliki, adults’ trainer, M.Sc. in informatics. The agenda of the event began with Project presentation, “What is STEM?” and continued with “Teaching STEM in the 21st century classrooms.The participants were attended by twenty (20) participants (teachers, stakeholders, parents etc.).
“STEM FOR ALL” PROJECT’S PRESENTATION IN ROMANIA
The Launching event took place on 20 April 2018, in the event room, in Targu Jiu, Romania. The “Stem for all” project presentation was done by Iohana Cristina Udrescu, the vice president of Asociatia Edulifelong and Romanian project coordinator. She spoke about the need of such a project, the need of teachers willing to use Stem activities into their classrooms , about the project objectives and the activities planned during the two years lifetime.
The agenda of the event continued with a presentation of the first LLT “Teaching STEM in the 21st century classrooms”.The 4 teacher participant at this event have shared their experiences with the guests.
The event was attended by over 100 participants: teachers, stakeholders, parents etc..
